He is currently leading State Street Investment Management's ESG research efforts, and working on maintaining State Street Investment Management's ESG data architecture, as well as creating ESG quantitative scoring models and tools.

        Prior to joining State Street Investment Management in 2017, Mr. Maffina was a Research Associate at Calvert Investments and Calvert Research and Management (Washington, D.C.).

        Before joining Calvert, Mr. Maffina worked for the insurance team of the sustainability advocacy NGO Ceres. Previously, he was employed by Tessolar, a Massachusetts-based renewable consulting startup, and was a market and industry Analyst for a multinational chemical company in Europe.
