At the recent Boardroom Summit hosted by Corporate Board Member, State Street Global Advisors President & CEO Cyrus Taraporevala gave a keynote address titled “The Next Big Investor Push.” Speaking to an audience of corporate board directors and senior managers, Cyrus said he believes that “identifying and quantifying material ESG issues is the next big frontier in investing.” He added that “it won’t be long before every investor will want to know what a company’s ESG score is before they invest.”
He also talked about State Street Global Advisors’ increasing focus on corporate culture: “We believe our role as a steward is to help board members align culture and strategy in a more rigorous and systematic way.” Culture was the subject of Cyrus’s letter to board chairs and lead directors around the globe in January, calling on them to help investors better understand how their company culture aligns with their long-term strategy.
Cyrus was also featured in the cover story of Corporate Board Member’s April 2019 issue. Read the article here.
