The Americas Awards is the premier event to showcase achievements and network with participants active in the OTC, cleared and listed derivatives markets. State Street Global Advisors was chosen as the "Asset Manager of the Year" and was nominated alongside BlackRock and Vanguard; nominations are based upon market feedback and research conducted.

At the cutting edge of global fund management, winners of the Fund Action ETF Innovation Awards have been responsible for ground breaking ideas, fund products and a level of service that have helped both investors and clients, as well as furthering the reputation of the ETF space as a center for financial innovation. The State Street Global Advisors SPDR website was recognized as the “Most Innovative ETF Provider Website” and the SPDR Gender Diversity Index ETF (SHE) won “Thematic ETF of the Year”. Every award is given solely on merit.
2017 Asset View, Top UK Equity Award
Asset View is one of Europe's premier institutional investment journals with a circulation of over 7,200 institutional investors and around 5,500 asset management professionals. The Asset View Awards, in contrast to many industry awards, do not engage a judging panel to determine who wins. Instead, they apply five quantitative risk and performance calculations to three-year data across 31 major institutional asset classes. These clearly defined statistical factors (excess return, information ratio, wins-losses, hit rate and drawdown strength) form the CAMRADATA Independent Quantitative (IQ) scores and rankings. The IQ scores are therefore the judges that determine the outstanding funds that are recognized with an Asset View Award.
2017 Cannes Lions Awards, Multiple Grand Prix Winner
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is a globally recognized event for creative communications and advertising and is considered the largest gathering of professionals in these fields. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges who are experts in each field from around the world. State Street Global Advisors won 18 awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, including 4 Grand Prix (Glass, Public Relations, Titanium, and Outdoor), 10 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze for Fearless Girl.
2017 Clio Awards, Advertiser of the Year
The Clios are a prestigious awards program, recognizing creativity and innovation in advertising, design, and communication. Juries determine whether a work will be included on the Shortlist, or receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal. One work in each media type may be awarded the Grand Clio, the highest honor. State Street Global Advisors won “Advertiser of the Year” for Fearless Girl. Additionally, State Street Global Advisors, along with McCann North America, took home five Grand Clios plus five more Gold Clio awards in categories including public relations, innovation, and branded content.
2017 Central Banking Asset Manager of the Year
State Street Global Advisors was named Central Banking Asset Manager of the Year for the second consecutive year in 2017. Judges commended the firm’s efforts to address client needs across asset classes, geographic regions and investment styles, as well as lauding efforts to take customized services to the next level.
2017 Learning & Performance Institute’s Annual Learning Awards: Onboarding Program of the Year, Bronze Medal
State Street Global Advisors was awarded the bronze medal for “Onboarding Programme of the Year” at the Learning & Performance Institute’s (LPI) 21st Annual Learning Awards in London. The award was given for State Street Global Advisors’ Pre-Boarding Program, an online tool that provides an introduction to the company, its culture and values, prior to newly hired employees’ first day at work.
2017 Inside ETFs People’s Choice Awards: Best New ETF
The SPDR State Street Global Advisors Gender Diversity Index ETF (Ticker: SHE) was voted Best New ETF by attendees at the Inside ETFs 10th Annual Conference in January. The SHE Fund was up against 5 other finalists within the category and the winners are selected in a three part process designed to leverage the insights and opinions of leaders throughout the ETF industry and the final stage includes a vote by a group of independent ETF specialists.
2016 Bloomberg Businessweek (Chinese edition) Top Fund Awards: Best Performer, ETF and Outstanding Performer, ETF in the Bond Global category
ABF Pan Asia Bond Index Fund (PAIF) was named the “Best Performer, ETF (NAV Total Return)” and “Outstanding Performer, ETF (NAV Tracking Error)” in the Bond Global category in the Bloomberg Businessweek (Chinese edition) Top Fund Awards.
2016 WealthManagement.com Industry Awards: Best Thought Leadership/Advisor Education program from an Asset Manager
Out of more than 400 nominations, State Street Global Advisors’ Practice Management program, “Addressing the Value Equation,” was selected as the best Thought Leadership/Advisor Education program from an Asset Manager by WeathManagement.com. The awards are meant to recognize recent initiatives that help financial advisors grow their businesses and better serve their clients.
2016 New York City Comptroller’s “Diverse Practitioner” Award
State Street Global Advisors was recognized by New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer for being committed to diversity in the composition of the firm’s investment professionals and boards, and policies and practices. This was the first time Comptroller Stringer issued the “Diverse Practitioner” award to investment management firms that invest money on behalf of the New York City Pension Funds.
2016 Smart Investor Blue Ribbon Award: Best Australian Large Cap Strategy
State Street Global Advisors Deputy CIO, Active Quantitative Equity Olivia Engel was the first woman ever, and first quantitative fund manager ever, to win the Blue Ribbon Award for best Australian large cap fund. Accepting the award, Ms. Engel said there was no reason her daughters or anyone else's couldn't succeed in a male-skewed industry like funds management. The winner was chosen based on fund performance and management.
2016 The Asset Triple A Awards: Most Innovative ETF Product, USA, ETF Category
SPDR State Street Global Advisors Gender Diversity Index ETF (Ticker: SHE) was named the "Most Innovative ETF Product, USA" in this year's The Asset Triple A Awards in the ETF category. The Asset Triple A Awards are among the industry's most prestigious awards in Asia, recognizing those who have excelled in their respective industry. The awards programs are built upon a stringent methodology that is combined with a rigorous approach in selecting the best institutions and individuals operating in Asia.
2016 Indexing Achievement Awards:
The 2016 William F. Sharpe Indexing Achievement Awards were presented by The Journal of Index Investing, official publication of Global Indexing & ETFs , honoring winners across six categories. State Street Global Advisors won three awards: ETF Product of the Year (TOTL: SPDR DoubleLine Total Return Tactical ETF); ETF Innovation of the Year (SHE: SPDR State Street Global Advisors Gender Diversity Index ETF); and Indexing Innovation of the Year (State Street Global Advisors Gender Diversity Index).
