Wie in unserem jüngsten Smart Beta Compass beschrieben, haben wir im zweiten Quartal möglicherweise zu früh auf Dividendenwerte gesetzt, da die Marktvolatilität vor allem im Juni zu gemischten Ergebnissen führte. Wir wiesen auf die Erwartungen der Analysten hin, dass stabilisierte Cashflows das Dividendenwachstum unterstützen würden. Letztendlich scheint es, dass die Erwartungen an die Erholung zu groß waren, da Ängste vor einer ausufernden Inflation aufgrund einer überhitzten Wirtschaft oder, schlimmer noch, vor einer Reaktion der Geldpolitik zu einer zeitweiligen Volatilität führten.
Auch wenn ETF-Anleger, die ihr Vermögen in Dividendenwerte investierten, vielleicht zu früh dran waren, sprechen diese Inflationsängste nicht dafür, dass sie falsch lagen. Wir schließen uns der allgemeinen Ansicht an, dass es sich bei der Inflation um eine vorübergehende Störung des Verhältnisses zwischen Angebot und Nachfrage handelt, da wir uns aus einer globalen Blockade herausbewegen. In gewissem Sinne ist die Bereitschaft der Verbraucher, zu konsumieren, größer als die Fähigkeit der Produzenten, die Regale wieder aufzufüllen und zwar sowohl in der Produktion als auch bei den Dienstleistungen, was die Preise vorübergehend in die Höhe treibt. Es wird erwartet, dass der Markt diese Verwerfungen verdaut und es den Anlegern ermöglicht, sich wieder auf die Erträge zu konzentrieren.
Die derzeitige wirtschaftliche Stimmung spricht nach wie vor für Dividendenwerte, wenn man die jüngsten Gewinnprognosen, die Erwartungen der Analysten und den allgemeinen Optimismus hinsichtlich einer anhaltenden wirtschaftlichen Erholung betrachtet. Umfragen zum Verbrauchervertrauen (USA) und zum Wirtschaftsvertrauen (Eurozone) zeigten vor der weltweiten Pandemie einen positiven Trend (siehe nachstehende Grafik). Die Pandemie hat den Trend zwar empfindlich gestört, aber beide Vertrauensindikatoren haben sich vollständig erholt und liegen wieder über ihrem Trend vor der Pandemie. Die jüngsten Werte dieser Indikatoren (von letzter Woche) liegen über den Werten, die sie zu Beginn des Jahres 2020 verzeichneten.
Vertrauensindikatoren erholen sich vom Trend vor der Pandemie
Wir glauben, dass das erste Halbjahr 2021 erst der Anfang war und die Erholung bis zum Jahresende anhalten wird. Der Vorteil, den Wachstumswerte durch die extrem niedrigen Zinsen haben, könnte sich verringern, wenn die Renditen weiter steigen, weil die Inflation anzieht. Wir gehen davon aus, dass sich die Schere zwischen Growth und Value weiter schließen wird. Value-Faktor-ETFs haben eine deutliche Reflation erlebt. Engagements in Dividendenrenditen könnten als nächstes von einer Wiederbelebung der Konsumtätigkeit profitieren.
