David R Ireland

David is a Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Strategic Client Relationships at State Street Investment Management. In this role, David focuses on deepening State Street Investment Management’s relationships with its largest clients and identifying synergies across its core businesses. He is responsible for ensuring comprehensive, coordinated client coverage, as well as partnering with colleagues across State Street to deliver an industry leading "One State Street" experience.

Prior to his current role, David was Head of Institutional Americas, where he was responsible for overseeing all institutional business development and relationship management efforts for the Americas region. Before his Institutional Americas role, David led State Street Investment Management’s $800bn global defined contribution business. David is a member of the State Street Investment Management Executive Management Group and the State Street Operating Group.

Previously, David was Director of DC Distribution for Wellington Management where he focused on business development and investment strategy. Prior to Wellington, David spent 12 years at State Street Investment Management in a variety of roles, including Head of US Consultant Relations and Director of the North American Defined Contribution Sales and Strategy and Portfolio Manager for the Global Asset Allocation team. Prior to joining State Street Investment Management, David spent five years as a consultant with FactSet Research Systems.

David earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Skidmore College. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society and CFA Institute. He holds Series 7 and 63 registrations with FINRA, and also holds the NFA Series 3 registration.
