Simona Mocuta is a Senior Economist in the Global Macro and Policy Research Group at State Street Global Advisors. In this role, she helps shape the team's views on key global economic developments and trends, produces forecasts and analysis for the G7 economies and key emerging markets, and presents these views to internal investment teams, clients, and the media. She leads the Policy and Politics team, co-authors the Weekly Economic Perspectives publication and is a regular contributor to the flagship Forecasts and Global Market Outlook publications.
Prior to joining State Street, Simona led the Asia macroeconomic practice at IHS Global Insight, overseeing the team's long-term economic forecasts and risk assessments for Asian countries as well as the China Regional Economic Service. Previously at IHS Global Insight, Simona was the Data and Forecast Quality manager, leading efforts to revamp the group's forecasting models. She was also instrumental in enhancing the high frequency forecast offerings and developing IHS' Sovereign Risk Service.
Simona holds a Master's degree in International Economics from Suffolk University in Boston, MA, and an undergraduate degree in International Economic Relations from West University of Timisoara, Romania. She was born in Oradea, Romania.
