The SPDR ETFs / Investment Trends 2022 Managed Accounts Report sought to better understand the usage and trends in managed accounts among financial advisers. The insights from this report can help you take your practice forward. 



The Growing Use of Managed Accounts


The use of managed accounts in Australia has expanded, with managed accounts now representing around $131.6 billion of funds under management.1


One in two financial adviser utilise managed accounts, up from just 16 per cent a decade ago. A further 18 per cent may do so in the future.

Of new client inflows invested in managed accounts by financial advisers, up from just 4 per cent in 2015.

Implementing Managed Accounts


Advisers have an unprecedented choice when it comes to selecting cost-effective ways of delivering investments to their clients, while optimising their core skills in providing strategic wealth advice and support.


Financial planners continue to recommend managed accounts for their transparency, cost-efficiency and access to institutional-quality investment managers.

About the Research


The SPDR ETFs / Investment Trends 2022 Managed Accounts Report was commissioned by Investment Trends. The quantitative online survey was carried out between 6 December 2021 and 30 January 2022. The sample after data cleaning and validation was 669 financial advisers.
