Following the launch of the first US-listed exchange traded fund (ETF) in 1993, State Street Global Advisors decided to bring the benefits of ETF investing to Australia. We launched the SPDR® S&P®/ASX 200 Fund (STW) and the SPDR® S&P®/ASX 50 Fund (SFY) on 27 August 2001, offering investors instant diversification potential in a low cost, simple, tax efficient and easily accessible investment.
