        Carlo M. Funk, Managing Director, is State Street Global Advisors’ Global Head of ESG Strategy and EMEA Head of ESG.

        As Global Head of ESG Strategy, he leads the ESG Strategy team to work closely with regional leaders to develop distribution plans and client engagement programs. He is also responsible for developing and executing the global ESG product roadmap together with product teams as well as collaborates with investment leaders to enhance ESG integration and solutions.

        As EMEA Head of ESG, he leads and oversees all ESG related activities in the region, including the asset stewardship program and regulatory and industry initiatives. He is responsible for liaising with external bodies including industry associations and representing State Street Global Advisors in ESG-related regulatory meetings in the region.

        Before joining State Street Global Advisors, Mr. Funk was responsible for the design and distribution of passive ESG investment solutions at BlackRock and acted as its EMEA-wide ESG sales specialist. His prior experience also includes working at J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank in New York and Frankfurt.

        Mr. Funk holds a BSc and MSc in international business and finance from Maastricht University. Additionally, he is a regular guest lecturer at the European Business School on sustainable finance. In 2020 he was awarded the Financial News "Asset Management Rising Stars Award".
