The objective of the International Equities Index Strategy is to provide clients with a low-cost predictable way to capture the return of international sharemarkets. SSgA does this by investing across a broadly diversified range of companies in all major world sharemarkets. The result is the delivery of international sharemarket returns as measured by the MSCI World ex-Australia Index.
| The SSgA International Equities Index Strategy provides investors with a broad and well-diversified portfolio of international shares. Our passive international equity strategy uses a full replication approach to track the returns of the benchmark. We believe that this approach is the most appropriate for minimising the effects of high transaction costs, while achieving the closest tracking. We purchase each stock in the MSCI World ex-Australia Index in the same weight as it appears in the Index. By doing so, the returns produced by the Strategy closely mirror those of the Index. Because this approach has low turnover relative to optimisation and sampling, total transaction costs incurred tend to be low. |
