Regulatory Restraints on Shorting

The SEC recently imposed new restraints on short-selling, targeting the stock of 19 companies. Many investment managers, including SSgA, believe the restraints will only marginally impact their 130/30 and market-neutral business. The SEC's increased control will likely lead to increased costs of borrowing stocks.
